Job Description
Our client is seeking a Rail Quantity Surveyor to join their successful and busy Commercial team in Warrington. The majority of the work that will be undertaken by the successful candidate will be a variety of Railway property projects around the UK such as station refurbishments, car parks, access improvements, i.e. lifts, ramps and bridges.
The position will involve: - undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work; - assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies; - preparing early stage budgets and detailed cost plans; - performing risk and value management and cost control; - advising on procurement strategy; - preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities; - identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks; - preparing and analysing costings for tenders; - establishing and operating cost and financial control systems; - allocating work to subcontractors; - negotiating to ensure budgets are not exceeded; - providing advice on contractual claims; - analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports; - valuing completed work and arranging payments; - developing knowledge relevant to contract conditions and their applications; - maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
The ideal candidate: - Will display good communication skills, both face to face and in their telephone manner - Have precious experience in a Quantity Surveying role - Have a Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent
The remuneration for this role is circa £30k with a package including; car/car allowance, pension, holidays and more.
