Job Description
PROJECT SAFETY ADVISOR - SCOTLAND
COMPANY: A leading global engineering, consulting & construction company.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: * To provide Health & Safety Advice to site staff & subcontractors on a Water Treatment Works Site * To assist the site management in establishing project based safety systems such as inductions, consultation meetings, safety inspection rotas.
DUTIES * Assist the Project management in the preparation & delivery of safety briefing sessions * Attendance at site project meetings & consultation meetings with contractors & client * Help identify any shortfalls in safety training * Keep abreast of current H&S legislation * Maintain a high personal standard of safety conduct in the office & on site * Monitor & review company procedures * Produce reports as necessary * Report any safety issues & ensure appropriate action is taken to rectify unsafe situations * Collate evidence for internal safety audits * Risk assessments & method statements * Provide advice on occupational health & safety legislation, * Undertake site inspections * Deliver any on site training * Develop safety alerts as necessary * Carry out tool box talks * Establish a working relationship with the HSE Chair Safety committee
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Academic & professional qualifications: * NEBOSH Construction/ General certificate * Tech IOSH * NEBOSH National Diploma or NVQ equivalent desirable
Background/experience: * Previous experience of working within the construction industry in an Engineering or trade role
Skills: * Good communicator * Good writing skills * Self-motivated & able to work without direct supervision * Assertive with respect to stopping unsafe activities * Diplomatic when dealing with people * Ability to use Windows based computer skills desirable
