Job Description
The Role
The role will be day to day project management, carrying out concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawings. You can expect to be active on a number of projects/client accounts at any given time. You will be supported by a team of experienced technical staff of various grades.
The position will also involve client liaison, financial control and business development and represents an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate. The position will be reporting to an Associate or Director.
Requirements
The successful candidate will either be, or close to achieving, Chartered status (CEng, MICE) and have experience in highway or drainage design. You will be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and S278, S104 and S38 Agreements and be able to produce the text for Proofs of Evidence for Planning Inquiries, Master plans, Site Appraisals (including Co-ordinated Services) and Environmental Statements.
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of the design of sewers, SUDS, (possibly using WINDES), highway design and earthworks optimisation (using PDS or MX) together with experience in applying relevant design codes such as Sewers for Adoption, Highways Agency and Local Authority Design Guides.
Experience in producing Flood Risk Assessments would be an advantage.
Probably from a consultancy or developer background with a heavy bias on private sector work, you will need to have good spoken and written communication skills, be aware of current and emerging guidance on sustainability and be able to work as part of a team.
