Job Description
A Principal Coastal Engineer is required to join our client's rapidly expanding team as they are going from strength to strength on the back of excellent projects delivered.
And why wouldn't you want to work for them? They won the prestigious title of "Major Firm" at the NCE/ACE Consultant of the year 2007, and within the NCE they rank inside the top 20 for overseas turnover, Coastal work, UK staff working on overseas projects and UK Technical staff.
They are looking for a leader, someone with a sound understanding of Coastal Engineering, ideally a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent), an MSc in Coastal Engineering (or equivalent) and MICE (or equivalent), and in addition to this they would like this key individual to be able to inspect, analyse and design coastal defence structures; and lead major coastal defence projects.
Its important that you have a passion for coastal defence, ports and waterfront development, because this will make up the majority of your work, primarily overseas based, they currently have ongoing projects in Bahrain, Mexico, Beirut and Angola.
You will work closely with modelling specialists and the role also involves being responsible for beach design and beach control structures as well as coastal defence, waterfront, maritime, and ports and harbour projects, as the technical lead our client will also ask you to assist with business development, client liaison, prepare bids, and lead and develop other members of the team.
