Job Description
Permanent Way (PWay) Section Manager
My client has been awarded the £363 million contract to create the new East London rail line between Dalston Junction in the North and West Croydon in the South. The project will play a major role in transporting people to and from the 2012 Olympic Games.
My client is in immediate need of a PWay Section Manager, whose role will involve managing a designated section of the engineering construction activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
o Management of site setting out. o Delegation of tasks to discipline engineers and site supervisors. o Production of 2 weekly programme of work and monitor progress. o Identify resources to fulfil programme. o Develop engineering staff. o Manage site records and quality documentation including production of QIPs. o Production of Method Statements and Appendices. o Liaise with other site staff, operatives and contractors. o Monitor workmanship and compliance with specifications on site. o Materials Management. o MSR Management.
The successful candidate will have:
o Experience in a Permanent Way Engineering role. o Team briefing skills. o Knowledge of Microsoft Project. o Awareness of Primavera. o Basic CAD skills. o Design Appreciation and including basic design processes. o Technical knowledge of materials and plant/labour outputs.
You will be expected to work a 39 hour week, in return you can expect a competitive salary and a great benefit package.
