"Excellent inter-personal and communication (oral and written) skills with the ability to lead, motivate and support staff. "Proven ability to exercise sound judgement in all decision-making. "Ability to work under pressure in an environment of change to meet tight deadlines. "Display professional behaviour at all times. "Extensive experience in minerals and waste planning with demonstrable evidence of achievements. "Experience of analysis of complex strategic spatial planning issues, identifying policy options, evaluating alternatives and implementation of preferred option. "Experience of presenting evidence at public inquiries/hearings. "Experience of negotiating at senior level "Relevant (UK equivalent) degree and eligibility for membership of Royal Town Planning Institute or other appropriate professional body e.g. Institute of Quarrying or Institute of Waste Management.
