Job Description
COMPANY: One of the leading elevator companies in the world. They service & install lifts.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To support the Group Health & Safety Manager in the development, implementation, training & monitoring of the H&S policies, risk register & risk assessment processes across the company. The post requires a high level of specialised knowledge in relation to H&S Legislation & the post holder will also work in accordance with company policies & procedures.
KEY TASKS: *To develop & deliver H&S training *Conduct internal & external H&S audits as part of the annual audit programme, ensuring sites all are complying with the appropriate legislation/regulations. *To provide expert guidance advice & support to managers & site staff *To be responsible for ensuring appropriate monitoring of site safety & the reduction of risks that has been identified
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *To assist in the development & revision of the company's H&S policies & procedures *To support & where necessary direct investigations & reports on accident/ incidents likely to result in litigation &/or insurance claims, to assist the company in the defence of such claims. *To report, update & close all accident/incidents to the appropriate external agencies, i.e. H&S Executive *To support & promote the H&S consultation process through the different locations within the company *To liaise with external customers so that a professional image of the organisation can be presented to these customers
QUALIFICATIONS: *Member of IOSH *NEBOSH Diploma
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Essential: *Engineering experience *Creation of company policies & procedures *Excellent knowledge of safety auditing & inspection *Ability to perform complex risk assessments * Must be willing to travel as the region is large & must have experience of managing & working with people at every level. Desirable: * Experience in a large construction organisation that installs lifts & escalator
