Job Description
My client is looking for a professional Safety, Health and Environmental Manager with a proven track record within the commercial and construction market sector (preferable M&E background). The individual should possess strong all-round leadership skills together with site and operational management experience, excellent communication skills, experience of ISO 9001(2000), 14001 & 18001 Quality, H&S & Environmental Management systems is preferred together with the ability to present, induct, audit & support H&S quality initiatives & improvements in site management & performance productivity. The role includes, but is not limited to, the undertaking of the management, development, audit & assessment, inspection, organisation & reporting of all matters relating to the Safety, Health & Environmental responsibilities for the Group and all of its Subsidiary Companies. The candidate will be expected to oversee & manage both internal staff & external resource. Equally he/she will need to liaise with professional organisations, Directors, Managers, Clients, Contractors, Sub-trades, and others to provide advice & support and promote the strong culture & belief in Safety and Environmental awareness within the organisation. LOCATION: Northampton based with regular National site visits including London. QUALIFICATIONS: It is expected that the Candidate will possess the minimum qualifications (or equivalent) of: NEBOSH National certificate (&/or International Certificate), IOSH Chartered Membership, First Aid at Work, British Safety Council Diploma in OSH & be trained in other relevant Construction relates qualifications/legislation. ATTRIBUTES: The successful candidate will report to the Group Board and conduct Group & Subsidiary Management meetings on a regular basis. He/she will also be expected to assist in the preparation of related H&S information in support of our Operating, Sales & Marketing & Training Developments. Be responsible for the management of records & ensure practical advice & appropriate training is undertaken where new legislation or guidelines are introduced. The role will involve working from the Head Office with a remit to ensure proper adequate Management of all Regional Offices/Sub offices.
