Job Description
Geophysicist required to join small British independent owing to continued success and growth.
Our client is one of the largest privately owned British oil and gas companies with a portfolio based in the North Sea covering both UK and Dutch sectors. The company has established production and has continued to grow year on year, adding asset value through acquisition, development and exploration. Currently the company requires a Geophysicist to join the UKCS team based in Aberdeen. The UKCS portfolio is a mix of non-operated and operated assets (at present the balance is weighted towards non-operated but this is changing over time) covering most areas of the North Sea. They have operated licences in the SNS and NNS, and non-operated, but with large exploration and appraisal accountabilities, in the Moray Firth and CNS.
They are looking for a Geophysicist to join the existing team and are reasonably flexible as to the experience level, the key requirement being that this a purely technical position. The ideal candidate will be interpretation focused, although experience of acquisition or processing would be seen as a benefit (rather than a requirement). The position will be accountable for work covering the majority of projects so will cover both the operated and non-operated assets from exploration through to development. Ideally they would like someone from a small company background who can cope with, and understand, the associated accountability of the smaller oil company. Candidates should be willing to express opinions, challenge the working norms and work to short deadlines.
