Job Description
Estimator or Senior Estimator job, Essex
Our client, a main contractor are looking to appoint either an Estimator or a Senior Estimator to join their team based at their offices in Birmingham.
They are looking for candidates with previous estimating and main contracting experience, particularly within the Industrial, Leisure and Health Sectors of projects up to £40 million.
Duties may include but not be limited to:
1. Accurately quantify materials, plant and labour requirements for allocated projects. 2. Attend and contribute at tender stage strategy and/or design innovation meetings. 3. Undertake the assessment of tender bids 4. Produce summary sheet and associated documentation and presentation of the package for tender 5. Negotiate lowest prices with suppliers and subcontractors. 6. Advise the Commercial Director of potential areas of savings and value engineering solutions.
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies required: * A proven estimating track record. * The ability to read, interpret and understand specifications and drawings. * Experience of computerised estimating software. * The ability to think ahead, plan and prioritise workload. * The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. * Good communication skills. * A proactive approach to problem solving. * Ability to meet set deadlines. * Enthusiasm and dedication to the work. *Ability to take a lead role and accept responsibility and accountability
